Dermaplaning

Anyone suffering from acne scars, dull or dry skin, sun-damaged skin or fine wrinkles.

After the initial treatment, you should notice that your skin looks brighter, but it will often take one-two days to fully feel and see the results.

Please note: It is necessary to wait until breakouts are healed, or you have a smooth skin surface before trying Dermaplaning. If you have active acne, our Acne Clearance Treatment might be better suited to your requirements. If you are a man with a thick beard, you will need to shave your beard before trying Dermaplaning.

Results vary person by person, but usually results last anywhere from one to six months. A number of treatments may be required to achieve results lasting for multiple months as we are exposed to toxins, irritants and sun-damage on a daily basis. Your Botanix Clinic aesthetician will discuss the best course of treatments for you and your skin.

All makeup or skincare products will be removed and the skin will be prepped. This will include cleansing and a gentle exfoliation. After you are comfortable, your Botanix Clinic aesthetician will use a dermaplaning blade at a 45-degree angle across your face and to finish will apply a soothing mask, hydrating serum and moisturiser and finished with an LED light therapy.

Clients should feel no pain during this procedure, most clients report a mild tingling sensation.

This procedure is non-invasive and doesn’t use chemicals, so there are very few side effects a patient might experience. There may be a mild redness to the skin and in extreme cases where the aftercare information is not followed, a patient may experience infection and scarring.

There is no downtime required after dermaplaning, however, we do recommend that you avoid excess UV exposure, makeup, touching the skin and saunas or steam rooms for 24 hours post-treatment.
