Microneedling is a non-invasive, evidence-based skin rejuvenation treatment that works by creating controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. This triggers a natural healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin—key components for firmer, smoother, and healthier skin.
It’s commonly used alongside a hyaluronic acid serum to improve the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, pigmentation as well as uneven texture. The procedure is safe, effective, and suitable for most skin types.
At Botanix Clinic, we also offer microneedling enhanced with Exosomes and Polynucleotides to deliver next-level skin rejuvenation. While microneedling on its own stimulates collagen and skin repair, pairing it with these advanced serums supercharges the results. Exosomes help to calm inflammation, accelerate healing, and boost skin regeneration, while Polynucleotides (derived from DNA fragments) deeply repair and restore skin at a cellular level, improving texture, elasticity, and radiance. This combination allows us to tailor treatments for clients seeking more powerful, targeted skin renewal with minimal downtime.

Treatment FAQ's
Microneedling is a safe and effective treatment for most people, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Those with certain skin conditions, active infections, or who are taking specific medications should seek professional advice before starting treatment.
Microneedling is a versatile treatment that can be performed on multiple areas of the body, including the face, neck, décolletage, abdomen, hands and legs. It’s commonly used to target a range of concerns such as fine lines, acne scarring, uneven skin tone, and stretch marks.
You may start to notice improvements in your skin’s texture and tone within a few weeks of your first microneedling session. However, the most significant results—such as increased collagen production and reduced scarring—typically develop gradually over several months, especially when following a series of treatments.
Microneedling results can last anywhere from several months up to a year or longer, depending on individual factors. While some people enjoy benefits for 6 to 12 months or more, others may notice results fading sooner. The longevity of treatment effects varies based on skin type, the severity of concerns, lifestyle habits, and how well post-treatment skincare is maintained.
During a microneedling session, your skin will first be thoroughly cleansed, followed by the application of a numbing cream if required. A specialised device with fine needles is then used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. You might experience a gentle prickling or vibrating sensation, along with some redness and mild swelling afterward, which usually fades within a few days. Following the treatment a soothing mask will be applied followed by a hydrating serum, moisturiser and LED light therapy.
Microneedling is generally safe, though it may cause temporary side effects such as redness, swelling, and increased skin sensitivity, which usually subside within a few days. Less common but more serious risks include infection, bruising, and changes in skin pigmentation.
All aftercare will be thoroughly explained by your practitioner following microneedling, however, it is important to practice gentle skincare to support healing and reduce the risk of complications. This means avoiding harsh products, strenuous exercise, and direct sun exposure, while keeping the treated skin clean and well-hydrated. We also recommend an SPF 50 daily.
A deposit of £50 is required on all skin bar treatments- this is fully redeemable against your chosen treatment.
